PUA’s Engineering Secures 2nd Place in YESIST12

The team representing PUA’s Faculty of Engineering has achieved a notable second place in the initial phase of the 12th Youth Endeavors for Social Innovation using Sustainable Technology (YESIST12) competition, organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This accomplishment was secured in the “Safe Living” category, targeting university students, postgraduates, and graduates, during the event hosted at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in Alexandria (AASTMT), focusing on their innovative “Smart Medical Drainage Bag” project.

The winning team, comprised of Abdul Rahman Yasser Zaghloul and Erin Massad, both students of the Mechanical Engineering Department, received guidance from Dr. Nabil Rashwan, a lecturer within the same department. With this notable success, the team has earned the opportunity to compete in the international finals scheduled to take place in Tunisia this coming September.
