As part of PUA’s Faculty of Engineering’s celebrations of the victories of the glorious October War, the National Awareness and Counter Extremism Team organized a seminar. The seminar was honorably attended by the Dean, Staff Gen. Osama Khalil, Fellow of the National Defense College, Nasser Higher Military Academy, and Dr. Jamal Mahmoud, head of the National Awareness and Counter Extremism Team. Numerous faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative, and students of different academic years were also present.

The seminar highlighted the significance of raising students’ awareness about the 50th anniversary of the October War, motives, incidents, and implications. It also detailed how the Egyptian army achieved such an outstanding victory in a battle of self-determination, which remains an exceptional incident taught in all military academies.

In addition, the lecturer overviewed the Egyptian people’s support for their army, their tolerance of the war’s implications on economy, and how the Egypt managed to force the enemy to accept the peace treaty, regain all its territories, and raise the Egyptian flag on it once again.

Moreover, the Dean reviewed the civilian role during the war in terms of the people accepting the events with full satisfaction, supporting the army, the impact on the nation back then, and the current development compared to what this generation has witnessed and experienced.
