PUA seeks to continue its annual tradition, and to play its leading role in the field of community service. Therefore, PUA organized the annual ceremony for Orphan’s Day, in which about 300 children, representing 6 NGOs concerned with caring for orphans, participated this year.

These societies include “Naba’a Al Hob Charitable Society, Al-Istiqrar Charitable Society, Al Mutdaroon Charitable Soceity, Al-Qala’a Society for Community Development, Tariq Al-Khair Society for Community Development, Mujib Al-Sa’ilin Charitable. Further, many faculty members, teaching assistants, and numerous students participated with great enthusiasm in organizing the celebration.

The children participated in the various games and activities in which the university faculties participated. For example, the Faculty of Dentistry provided health education for children’s dental care, and give them gifts related to protection of teeth. The Faculty of Engineering participated in some recreational games, while the Faculty of Arts and Design participated in face painting and handcraft gifts. While the faculties of Languages and Translation, Tourism, and Financial and Administrative Sciences participated in distributing gifts. Moreover, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences raised awareness of proper nutrition and healthy foods, in addition to distributing gifts to children.

In addition, the event included theatrical and musical performances, magician’s sketches, and the Nubian band. At the end of the ceremony, meals and clothes were distributed to all the children participating in the celebration, and a memorial group photo was taken.
