The Petrochemical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering has announced a remarkable achievement by its senior students at the 13th International Conference on Chemical and Environmental Engineering (ICEE-13), recently hosted by the Military Technical College in Cairo.
A student team successfully presented an outstanding research paper titled “Economic, Environmental, and Technical Recycling of Plastics in the Automotive Industry,” which forms part of their graduation project. The research was later accepted for publication and presenting in the prestigious conference proceedings.
The research team consists of students Hassan Abu Zeid, Ziad Mohamed Abdel Hadi, Karim Mohamed Mansour El-Essawy, and Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim Gawish, under the supervision of a distinguished scientific committee including Prof. Dr. Ehsan Nassef, Head of the Petrochemical Engineering Department, Dr. Reham Mohamedein from El Sewedy Cables Company, and Dr. Radwa Zaraa, Lecturer at the Petrochemical Engineering Department.
During the conference, Staff Major General Dr. Eng. Hossam El-Sayed Mustafa, Conference Rapporteur, personally honored the students and presented them with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding performance and notable scientific effort.
The research received wide acclaim from the judging panel and attendees who emphasized its importance from economic, environmental, and technical perspectives, noting its potential for practical application in the automotive manufacturing sector. They also commended the high scientific and professional level demonstrated by the students during their presentation and discussion.
