Head of the Radio and Television Institute in PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, PUA’s President, and Prof. Dr. Howaida Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr. Khaled Fathallah, Journalist, Head of the Radio and Television Institute, and Supervisor of the Information Center of the National Media Authority, held a workshop on “Making Video Reports”.

This workshop aimed at developing the skills of students in the field of TV reporting and video reports, as part of the editing and directing course. It was supervised by Prof. Doaa Hegazy, Assistant Professor, Radio and Television Department.

Furthermore, the workshop tackled the topic of how to create a distinguished TV report, and build the personality of a successful reporter. Prof. Dr. Howaida Mostafa indicated that the workshop seeks to sharpen the students’ media skills, and qualify them for the labor market. This is what the Faculty is keen on besides giving due care to theoretical and academic aspects.

Moreover, the workshop was given a special coverage from the Egyptian Channel 5, which had an interview with the Dean and a number of students to find out the significance of such workshops. Particularly, since it contributes in developing students’ skills and keeping them updated on the media labor market developments.

At the end of the workshop, Dr. Fathallah, invited the students to a private visit to the radio and television building “Maspero”. He was also pleased with the great interaction of the students, who were keen to attend. Prof. Dr. Huwaida Mustafa, however; awarded him a certificate of thanks and appreciation for his keenness to hold such workshops for the Faculty students.
