PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design is tirelessly keen on equipping the students of Graphics Department with skills required in the job market. Accordingly, and the as part of its field visits and academic trips plan, and in cooperation with Dr. Karim Helmy, Executive Director of Alexandria University Press and seconded lecturer in the Photography Department at PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design, Faculty organized a field visit to Alexandria University Press. This press is one of the largest printing presses in Alexandria, and the central printing press at Alexandria University.

The purpose of this visit was to identify the different stages of various types of printing processes, whether offset printing, photolithography, or digital printing. In addition to the post-press services such as assembly, final output of prints, and various design works.

Further, this visit was significant as it served a practical application for the courses of the Graphics Department. It also familiarized the students with the nature of printing machines, their components, and common mistakes to be avoided while printing.
