The Faculty of Mass Communication organized a seminar entitled “Crossing to the New Republic”. The seminar was presented by Staff General. Dr. Bahgat Mohamed Farid, former director of the National Defense College at Nasser Higher Military Academy. This was under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, PUA’s President, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu El-Ela, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Howaida Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty Mass Communication.
The seminar was opened with a welcoming speech by Dr. Khaled Al-Zahwini, Lecturer, Public Relations and Marketing Communications Department. Further, Prof. Dr. Howaida Mostafa thanked the General for accepting the invitation and his keenness on developing students’ awareness of the country’s achievements. She also thanked Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu Al-Ela for sponsoring the seminar and his interest in attending, and Dr. Noha Al-Asdoudi for organizing it with the participation of Department’s students.
During the seminar, the General discussed the most important ways that helped the state cross over into the new republic. These ways included achieving protection, stability, comprehensive development, meeting citizens’ needs, giving them freedoms, and protecting the state from challenges, risks, and threats.
Moreover, the seminar witnessed an intense presence of students, faculty members, and teaching assistants. At the end, Prof Dr. Howaida Mostafa honored the General for his efforts and his keenness on raising students’ awareness, improving their sense of patriotism and citizenship. The General also expressed his admiration of the students’ great interaction.
