Awareness Event on Child Nutrition

Continuing the activities of the fourth environmental campaign, “Green Pharos”, and in celebration of World Food Day, PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology, in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry, hosted an awareness event titled “Advisory Tips for Child Nutrition and Tooth Decay Prevention”. The event highlights the ongoing inter-faculty collaboration to promote health awareness and encourage proper dietary practices within the community.

The session addressed the critical role of balanced nutrition throughout children’s growth stages and its importance in supporting overall health. Presenters emphasized the necessity of reducing excess sugar intake due to its direct impact on oral health and the heightened risk of dental caries. Furthermore, the Faculty of Dentistry contributed specialized guidance regarding oral hygiene, highlighting preventive methods against tooth decay, the importance of regular toothbrushing, and the establishment of healthy habits from early childhood.

This event underscores the pivotal role of PUA’s Community Service Center and the Green Pharos Committee in spreading health literacy. PUA continues to foster interdisciplinary collaboration across its faculties to execute community awareness initiatives that enhance quality of life and support sustainable development goals.
