Interior Design Within Cinematic Frames

PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design held a specialized workshop titled “Spaces in Frame: Between Interior Design and Cinema”. Aimed at foundation-year students, the workshop introduced the fundamental relationship between interior design and cinematography, demonstrating how interior spaces are utilized within the cinematic frame to shape visual imagery and build dramatic tension.

The sessions provided an introductory approach to help students understand the shared links between the two fields through simplified practical applications. Special emphasis was placed on color perception as a vital element, illustrating its impact on creating atmospheric moods and expressing emotions, as well as its role in enhancing visual storytelling and guiding the viewer’s attention. This initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to broadening students’ creative horizons and connecting design disciplines with various contemporary visual arts.
