PUA is highly committed to linking academic education with practical reality and developing the capabilities of its Architectural Engineering Department students, especially in the field of landscape design. Accordingly, 9th Semester students conducted a field visit to Mazhar Garden as part of the EA554 Landscape course.

The visit included an introductory tour inside the garden with accompanying officials, where students learned about the general site composition and the design elements used, such as plants, pathways, seating areas, and water features. They also studied the visual and spatial relationships between different parts of the garden and how they are utilized to achieve a balance between aesthetic and functional aspects.

In addition, the visit featured an orientation session on the herbarium given by Dr. Teresa Labib, Consultant for Heritage Botanical Gardens, where she explained the garden’s history, design style, sustainable maintenance strategies, and different plant species. This lecture helped students link theoretical concepts with the practical implementation of landscape projects in an existing urban environment.

The students received a kind and warm welcome from the garden’s administration and officials, and symbolic gifts and certificates of appreciation were exchanged at the end of the visit. The visit was supervised by the course professor Prof. Dr. Reham Ragheb, accompanied by T. A. Naglaa Youssef and Eng. Ghada Abdelwahab.
