Within the framework of permanent cooperation between the universities of the Republic of China and PUA, a delegation from the Chinese Shandong Normal University visited PUA. Shandong Normal University is one of the largest and oldest Chinese universities, which include various academic disciplines and academic programs. The visit was attended by the President of Shandong Normal University and the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss ways of cooperation between the two universities.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to PUA’s latest educational developments and efforts in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers through its Teaching Arabic as A Foreign Language Center (TAFL). In addition, the Chinese Language Department at the Faculty of Languages and Translation gave an overview on the activities provided in the field of the Chinese language, which is considered as one of the most significant languages given great attention in Egypt due to the strong relations between the two countries.

The two parties also discussed the ways of future cooperation at the undergraduate level, postgraduate studies, exchange of faculty members, teaching assistants and students, hosting Chinese experts, and encouraging joint scientific research between the two universities.

At the end of the visit, the President of Shandong Normal University expressed his happiness with what he has seen at PUA, and expressed his desire to achieve more cooperation in the joint scientific and research fields between the two universities. The visit ended with the signing of a cooperation protocol between the two universities.
