At the 2nd National Summit of Egyptian University Student Union Leaders, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) highlighted its pioneering role in the “Be Ready” initiative during a dedicated session attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The initiative, led by the Ministry in partnership with the British Council for Education and Employment, aims to equip graduates with job-ready skills aligned with Egypt’s and the region’s labor market demands. PUA’s participation underscores its commitment to bridging academia and industry through tailored training programs linking curricula to real-world challenges, preparing graduates for seamless workforce integration.

Karim Ahmed, President of PUA’s Student Union, presented the university’s “Pharos Green” sustainability project, which promotes eco-conscious practices across campus operations. “We aim to embed sustainability into our university’s DNA through actionable initiatives that merge environmental awareness with daily activities,” he stated.

Ahmed also discussed with the Minister the critical role of field training and student-led activities in fostering leadership and community development skills, emphasizing that *“hands-on experience is the cornerstone of preparing students to drive national progress.”
