As part of its student activities programs, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a workshop titled “Pattern Making in Fashion Design”. This event was part of a series aimed at supporting students’ practical skills and enhancing their experience in the field of fashion design. The workshop was presented by Eng. Samy Mohamed, a pattern making expert in fashion design, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Karama Thabet, Head of the Fashion Design Department, and Dr. Amira Hamdy, the Faculty’s Student Activities Coordinator. The workshop covered the fundamentals of pattern drafting and how to translate design concepts into accurate prototypes that can be practically applied in garment production.
The workshop saw great interaction from students who showed keen interest in the practical and applied content of the session, recognizing its importance in professionally developing their skills in fashion design and execution. The workshop concluded with practical applications during which participants discussed their future ideas and projects, which contributed to fostering a spirit of creativity and applied learning among the students.
