Enhancing Scientific Research Skills

Dedicated to advancing the scientific research framework and upgrading the technical capabilities of researchers, PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication held a specialized training workshop titled “Information Literacy in Scientific Research”. Organized under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Naela Emara, Dean of the Faculty, the event aimed to empower researchers to leverage reliable digital resources to elevate the quality of their academic studies.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Shaimaa Turki, Director of PUA’s Library Department, who provided detailed insights into navigating major research platforms. The sessions focused on practical steps for accessing the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB), advanced search techniques using precise keywords, and the effective use of various filters to categorize results and access the latest studies and scientific references in the field of media.

This workshop is a crucial step in assisting Master’s and Doctoral students in streamlining their efforts to collect and document scientific material methodically. The faculty emphasized that possessing “Information Literacy” skills is no longer optional but a fundamental pillar for producing rigorous and innovative research. This ensures that PUA researchers remain at the forefront of the evolving academic landscape.
