In a move aligned with the Supreme Council of Universities’ plan to raise youth awareness about vital national issues, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) hosted an important discussion seminar titled “Egyptian National Security: Challenges and Threats.”

The seminar was delivered by Major General Mohamed Derraz, one of the heroes of the glorious Sixth of October War and a former Armed Forces officer. Major General Dorraz reviewed the current challenges and threats facing Egyptian national security, emphasizing the importance of national awareness and the role that new generations, especially students, can play in preserving Egypt’s security and stability.

The seminar was attended by Colonel Mohamed Farouk and Brigadier General Mohamed Yehia, who engaged in an open dialogue with students, stressing the necessity of solidarity between state institutions and society in confronting security challenges, especially in light of current regional and international changes.

The organization of this seminar came under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. Dr. Etman, in turn, stressed the importance of educating students about national security concepts and enhancing their national belonging, noting that the university is always keen to organize such events that contribute to building national awareness among its students.

Students showed significant interaction with the seminar’s topic, posing many questions that reflected their awareness and interest in national issues, making the seminar a rich and successful experience by all measures.
