Collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
No Poverty Activities:
In the 2024-2025 academic year, and in line with SDG 1 (No Poverty):
- December 2024: The Faculty of Physical Therapy organized a second-hand clothing market for university staff to alleviate their financial burdens.
- May 2025: The Faculty of Pharmacy organized a charity market providing essential food commodities at nominal prices for university workers, encouraging students and faculty members to engage in charitable activities and donation campaigns.
- March 2025: The Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence organized a charity market providing consumer goods to workers free of charge to promote philanthropy among students.
- May 2025: The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology visited “Donitna” Home for the Blind. Students provided financial, moral, and psychological support to residents and supplied necessary provisions for the facility as part of social responsibility.
Zero Hunger Activities:
In line with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger):
- March 2025: The Faculties of Financial & Administrative Sciences, Languages & Translation, and Arts & Design visited “Nabe’ El Hop” Association for children with cancer. They provided short-term relief aid and distributed food supplies as a gift from Pharos University, aiming to inspire a new generation of capable volunteers.
- May 2025: The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology visited the Association for the Blind, providing financial and emotional support and necessary supplies for the residents.
Good Health and Well-being Activities:
In line with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being):
- October 2024: The Community Service Center, with the participation of several faculties, visited “Ali Ibn Abi Talib” Association. Students provided health awareness sessions for children on proper posture and movement, alongside organizing recreational and educational activities.
- February 2025: The Faculty of Dentistry organized a medical convoy to “Ali Ibn Abi Talib” Charity for Orphans. Students conducted dental check-ups, provided oral health education, and distributed hygiene kits (toothbrushes and toothpaste).
Scientific Visits:
In line with SDG 4 (Quality Education):
- September 2024: The Faculty of Pharmacy visited the Saudi German Hospital (SGH) to introduce students to the vital role of clinical pharmacists and equip them with labor market skills.
- February 2025: The Faculties of Applied Health Sciences Technology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Dentistry visited the Ismailia Medical Complex to enhance practical knowledge and explore the latest medical equipment.
- February 2025: The same faculties visited SGH Alexandria for a full clinical training day to apply theoretical studies in a real-world hospital setting.
Partnerships for the Goals:
In line with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals):
- Pharos University signed a cooperation protocol with “Nile of Hope Hospital,” which specializes in free surgeries for children with congenital anomalies. This partnership included student training under specialist supervision in September 2024. Additionally, the university supports the hospital through financial donations and aids to encourage community service and charitable work and encourage students to engage in charitable activities.
