National Security Challenges and Information Warfare
PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication hosted Major General Staff Dr. Ahmed El-Shahat in an extensive educational seminar titled: “Egyptian National Security amid Regional Tensions, and the Role of Media in Shaping Awareness of Security Issues.” This event activates the PUA’s strategy aimed at developing national and political awareness among the student body.
The seminar discussed a package of vital portfolios and issues related to Egyptian national security amid the rapidly changing regional dynamics and current geopolitical challenges. The lecture shed light on the paramount importance of media messaging in shaping correct public awareness regarding security matters, countering systematic rumors, and confronting fourth- and fifth-generation information warfare targeting state stability.
The event witnessed remarkable student engagement and dynamic interaction, during which Dr. Ahmed El-Shahat presented a series of analytical perspectives and practical expertise on fostering national belonging and awareness. He highlighted the definitions of responsible media and its critical role as a primary defensive shield supporting state stability and safeguarding national security. The Faculty administration reaffirmed its continuous commitment to organizing these high-level educational events to deepen students’ analytical thinking, ensuring the graduation of media professionals capable of handling contemporary societal and media issues with conscious professionalism.
