As part of its mission to promote preventive health literacy, PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED), in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy, hosted a vital awareness lecture titled “Habits Threatening Kidney Health and the Role of Community Awareness in Prevention”. The session featured Dr. Ramy Ibrahim El-Warraki, Training Coordinator at the Kidney and Urology Center, who addressed the silent daily behaviors that can adversely affect renal function.
The lecture highlighted “common pitfalls,” such as the excessive and unsupervised use of analgesics and medications, insufficient water intake, and unhealthy dietary patterns. Dr. El-Warraki emphasized that community awareness serves as the first line of defense in reducing the prevalence of chronic kidney disease. He urged the adoption of simple, sustainable preventive behaviors to protect the body’s natural filtration system, reflecting PUA’s commitment to its educational role in safeguarding the public health of the Alexandrian community.
