Donating Blankets to Needy Families in Al Qalaa Society
In a noble humanitarian gesture embodying the highest values of social solidarity upheld by PUA, the Student Activities Department, in cooperation with the Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED), launched an extensive winter campaign to distribute blankets to underprivileged families. The campaign was launched under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Noha Badr, CSED’s Executive Director. This initiative is part of PUA’s annual strategy to provide aid to the local community and alleviate the burdens on vulnerable families during the cold winter months.
A CSED delegation, accompanied by a group of student volunteers, visited the “Al-Qalaa” Society in the El-Awayed District, where they distributed blankets in an atmosphere of warmth and cooperation. This campaign was more than just a charitable activity; it was a rich educational experience for the students, aimed at fostering values of compassion and social responsibility through direct field involvement. The delegation ensured that support was provided in a manner that preserves the dignity of the families while bringing joy to their hearts, reaffirming that the university’s role extends beyond academic walls to include human development and active contribution to social stability.
This initiative underscores CSED’s pivotal role in establishing a culture of giving and shared responsibility among members of the university community. PUA reaffirms its continuous commitment to supporting humanitarian activities that contribute to improving the quality of life for those most in need, considering these events a fundamental pillar for building a cohesive society based on mercy and solidarity. The beneficiary families and the association’s management expressed their deep appreciation for this generous gesture, which reflects the honorable image of the university as a leading national institution that prioritizes serving the Alexandrian community.
