Within the framework of its leading societal and developmental role, and in fruitful collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) held a specialized awareness workshop titled “Reducing Maintenance Costs”. The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghada Bassiouni, Vice Dean and member of the faculty’s CSED, with the participation of individuals interested in developing operational management mechanisms within the hospitality sector.

The workshop aimed to spread awareness regarding the necessity of optimizing maintenance expenditures and promoting a culture of “preventive maintenance” as a strategic alternative to corrective maintenance. This approach directly contributes to preserving resources and achieving optimal utilization of facilities and equipment, particularly within tourism and hotel establishments that demand high standards of quality and efficiency. The workshop also featured a presentation of practical methods and modern technical applications designed to reduce sudden breakdown rates and enhance operational efficiency, thereby positively impacting the financial and operational sustainability of the facilities.

CSED concluded the workshop by affirming that organizing such workshops reflects PUA’s commitment to supporting sustainable practices and fostering effective partnerships between the center and various university faculties. These efforts are dedicated to serving the community and building the capacity of individuals to manage available resources efficiently and responsibly, aligning with modern global trends in managing eco-friendly and energy-efficient tourism facilities.
