An Extensive Health Awareness Campaign at Green Plaza Mall
As part of its societal role and continuous efforts to enhance health awareness, PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy organized an extensive health awareness campaign at Green Plaza Mall in Alexandria, targeting shoppers and visitors of all age groups. The campaign included a series of free activities and check-ups, which involved measuring blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and calculating Body Mass Index (BMI), in addition to providing medical advice and guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing chronic lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Numerous Pharmacy faculty members and students participated in the campaign. They were keen to interact directly with the public and provide simplified and practical awareness, thereby reinforcing a culture of prevention before treatment and promoting the concept of health education in the community. The organizers of the campaign affirmed that this initiative is part of a series of activities organized by the University with the aim of serving the community, developing health awareness, and activating the role of higher education institutions in supporting public health.
