A Marathon Towards Green Pharos

As part of its second environmental campaign under the slogan “Green Pharos”, PUA’s Faculty of Languages and Translation organized a workshop titled “Marathon Towards Green Pharos and Sustainability”, with notable participation from students passionate about environmental issues.
The event, held in the faculty’s activity hall, featured interactive presentations aimed at raising awareness about adopting sustainable practices in daily and professional life. Students proposed innovative solutions for implementing sustainability within the university campus, with Dr. Sayed Hassouna, a lecturer at the faculty, awarding prizes to those who presented practical and outstanding environmental initiatives. Dr. Hassouna praised students’ active role in driving the transition toward a sustainable university environment.
In his remarks, Dr. Hassouna emphasized that “this initiative reflects the university’s commitment to empowering students as ambassadors of positive change, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals locally and globally.” He noted that the workshop is part of a series of awareness activities promoting sustainability culture across all university faculties.
The “Green Pharos” campaign this year involves extensive collaboration between university faculties, government entities, and community organizations. This partnership seeks to solidify sustainable environmental concepts, encourage innovation in resource management, and reduce carbon footprints, aligning with Egypt’s 2030 Vision for Sustainable Development.
