Adaptive Reuse and Architectural Integration

Under the supervision of PUA’s Student Activities Department, the Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a specialized workshop titled “From Existing Structure to an Integrated Project”. The initiative aimed to enhance practical application and architectural design skills among students.

During the workshop, Dr. Lina Ali outlined methodology for assessing existing structures and analyzing their spatial and functional elements. She detailed techniques for identifying building potential and structural capacity. The session focused on formulating integrated design concepts tailored to user requirements, achieving a balance between preserving architectural character and optimizing functional and aesthetic performance.

This workshop supports project-based learning and aligns academic instruction with evolving architectural industry demands. The program fosters critical thinking and design innovation, equipping graduates to deliver contemporary solutions for urban, environmental, and societal challenges. The Faculty reaffirms its commitment to hosting practical learning initiatives that advance sustainable design culture and professional knowledge sharing.
