“The Space Hears” Workshop

In an exceptional artistic experience that combined the perception of space and sound, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a workshop titled “The Space Hears”, through which it explored the profound relationship between sound and space as a concept of contemporary design.

The workshop aimed to develop students’ awareness of the sense of place and how material and auditory elements interact in an artwork, through practical applications and interactive experiments within different spaces inside the Faculty, contributing to the enrichment of the participants’ visual and auditory experience.

The workshop also featured open discussions between students and faculty members about the concept of space as a medium for creative expression, and how sound can be part of the design structure rather than merely a background. The workshop was organized as part of the Faculty’s commitment to encouraging artistic experimentation and supporting creative practices that broaden the horizons of design thinking for students, affirming its mission to graduate a generation of creators capable of redefining the relationship between art and the senses.
