Tourism’s Orientation Day
In a lively and welcoming atmosphere, PUA’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management held its Orientation Day for the new academic year. The event was attended by key university and faculty figures, including Prof. Dr. Nourhan Fanaki, Vice President for Educational Process Monitoring and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Nassar, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Bassiouni, Vice Dean, along with faculty members.
The opening speeches underscored that the faculty’s mission extends beyond the academic sphere to include preparing students who can actively participate in community service and environmental development. Dr. Nourhan Fanaki stressed the importance of investing university years in developing knowledge and skills. Dr. Mohamed Nassar explained that the faculty aims to graduate qualified professionals capable of competing in the tourism and hotel sector both locally and internationally. In addition, Dr. Ghada Bassiouni encouraged students to engage positively with faculty activities and participate in various events that foster their holistic university personality.
Representatives from the faculty’s committees, including the Student Activities Committee and the Community Service Committee, presented their role in linking students to initiatives and projects that serve the environment and community. This approach solidifies the concept of the university as a hub of expertise contributing effectively to sustainable development.
The day concluded with a guided tour inside the faculty, covering departments, labs, and facilities. This step aims to integrate new students into the university environment and raise their awareness of their academic and social responsibilities from the very first day.
