SDGS through Sustainable Design
In continuation of the third environmental campaign “Green Pharos,” the Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED), in cooperation with the Green Pharos Committee at the Faculty of Arts and Design, held a specialized workshop titled “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through Sustainable Design.” The workshop focused on highlighting the designer’s pivotal role in supporting global environmental trends by adopting practices that balance aesthetic, economic, and social dimensions.
The sessions addressed mechanisms for integrating sustainability concepts into various stages of the design process, ensuring the reduction of the negative environmental footprint and enhancing the efficient use of available resources. The workshop witnessed vibrant interaction through practical activities that helped transform theoretical concepts into realistic models, providing students with a deeper understanding of how to adapt their creative tools to serve environmental issues in their future projects.
This event confirms the university’s commitment to embedding a culture of sustainability across all academic disciplines and directing creative energies toward innovating eco-friendly design solutions. Through these initiatives, the faculty seeks to build a generation of designers who possess sufficient awareness of development issues and contribute effectively to achieving a more balanced and prosperous future vision.
