PUA Wins “Rally Egypt 2025” Cup for Entrepreneurship

Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) has secured a prestigious national achievement in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, as the Mum guard team claimed first place and was awarded the Rally Egypt 2025 Cup. This honorable victory followed a rigorous and competitive six-month journey, during which the team demonstrated exceptional persistence and skill while competing against 55 teams from various Egyptian universities. By winning the national title and the trophy, PUA reaffirms its position as a leading institution capable of fostering excellence and high-level national competition.

The Mum guard team represents a distinguished model of interdisciplinary synergy, featuring Dina El-Sayed Abdelhalim, a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mariam Abdelmagid Galal, a third-year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Mostafa Hosny Thabet, a student at the Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Their innovative project revolves around a device designed for the early detection of breast cancer, utilizing advanced thermal imaging technology integrated with a mobile AI application. This system performs advanced data analysis to assist in medical decision-making, representing a significant technological breakthrough that enhances early diagnosis and improves treatment outcomes through precision health technology.

This success is a direct result of the continuous strategic support provided by PUA’s Career Development and Entrepreneurship Center (CDEC). CDEC played a pivotal role in guiding the team, offering technical mentorship and essential resources throughout the competition phases, which enabled the team to refine their project and secure the top spot along with a cash prize of 150,000 EGP. This achievement embodies the fruit of institutional dedication and student effort, showcasing PUA’s ability to compete at the highest national levels while contributing to sustainable development and the integration of AI into medical sciences for the betterment of society.
