PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy held a comprehensive Orientation Day for its new students, attended by parents, faculty members, and teaching assistants. The event aimed to introduce freshman students to the college and university environment and the requirements for excellence in the pharmaceutical field.

The day’s program commenced with a welcoming address by Prof. Dr. Nourhan Fanaki, Vice President for Educational Process Monitoring and Quality Assurance. She welcomed the parents and new students, emphasizing the importance of adhering to university standards and complying with instructions to ensure an ideal learning environment.

This was followed by a speech from Prof. Dr. Maged El Ghozouly, Dean of the Faculty, who gave an introduction on the faculty, the importance of the pharmacy field, and the pharmacist’s vital role in general. He also highlighted the latest capabilities and resources adopted by the faculty to enhance the educational process.

Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sherihan Salah El-Din, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, provided an overview of the faculty, its study system, departments, and academic advising structure.

The Orientation Day highlighted several supportive student initiatives, such as the role of the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Center in preparing students for the job market. It also gave an introduction to Excellence Courses, services provided by the Special Cases Care Center, and the significance of community service and student activities.

A distinguishing feature of the day was the activity presented by the “Green Pharos Committee,” which offered practical advice to students on environmental preservation, such as proper waste disposal, and rationalizing water, energy, and paper consumption, thereby promoting sustainability awareness among the faculty’s students.
