Green Banking and Sustainable Finance
As part of the third environmental campaign, “Green Pharos,” and reaffirming PUA’s leadership in promoting sustainability, the Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED), in collaboration with the Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences, held a specialized seminar titled “Green Banking.”
The seminar featured Dr. Khaled Nasr, Director of the Matrouh Branch at the Egyptian Arab Land Bank and a renowned banking expert. Dr. Nasr provided a comprehensive overview of Green Banking as a strategic tool for sustainable development. The discussion focused on integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into banking policies, the role of green finance in supporting eco-friendly projects, and mitigating environmental risks. He also highlighted the significant milestones achieved by the Egyptian banking sector in adopting Green Banking principles.
The event witnessed remarkable student engagement, with discussions reflecting a growing awareness among the youth regarding the transition to sustainable financial systems to address contemporary economic and environmental challenges. This seminar aligns with PUA’s vision to prepare graduates capable of navigating global shifts in the financial sector, contributing to the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030 for a green economy transition.
