PUA’s Faculty of Engineering held a specialized Orientation Day for its new students joining the Construction Engineering and Management Department. The event was held under the direction of the Student Activities Department, aiming to introduce students to the workflow and study mechanism within the specialized department.

The Construction Engineering and Management Department, headed by Prof. Dr. Hamdy Afify, organized a lecture that began with welcoming the new students and explaining the department’s study system and activities. He also highlighted the most essential skills required by the job market in the Construction Engineering and Management specialization.

The lecture provided detailed explanations of several foundational systems crucial for students’ academic and professional success:

  • Academic Advising and Field Training: Essam El-Din Fouad discussed the academic advising system and its role, along with the mechanism for implementing and monitoring field training by the University and academic advisors.
  • Credit Hours System: Erene Mahfouz explained how to calculate students’ Grade Point Average (GPA), a vital element of the credit hours system.

In conclusion, the department encouraged students to actively participate in various activities offered by the department and the faculty—including cultural, sports, social, and educational activities—to foster their holistic development.
