Celebrating World Obesity Day

As part of its leading role in promoting health literacy, PUA’s Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences Technology, supervised by the Student Activities Department, hosted an extensive awareness seminar to commemorate World Obesity Day. The event aimed to highlight the risks of obesity as one of the most significant contemporary health challenges and its direct impact on chronic diseases and public health.

The program featured a series of interactive lectures focusing on positive lifestyle change strategies, ranging from the principles of sound nutrition to the importance of regular physical activity. The seminar witnessed significant attendance from faculty members and students who participated in practical activities designed to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI) and understand daily nutritional requirements. This reflects the university’s commitment to preparing health professionals capable of leading community-based campaigns toward a more vibrant and healthier lifestyle.
