PUA’s The Faculty of Pharmacy hosted an important cultural seminar titled “Antibiotic Resistance,” supervised by the Student Activities Administration. The seminar aimed to raise health awareness among the faculty’s students and attendees.

The discussion was led by a group of the faculty’s male and female students, who highlighted several vital topics, including:

  • Global epidemics, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, mechanisms for vaccine manufacturing, and methods to confront infectious diseases.
  • Modes of infection and transmission, and effective strategies for prevention.
  • The mechanism of antibiotics within the body, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to prescribed dosages.
  • A strong warning about the danger of determining the dosage or type of antibiotic except through a specialized physician, viewing this as the basis for combating the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance.

The seminar saw a large turnout from the faculty’s students and several teaching assistants, underscoring the faculty’s engagement with global and community health issues.
