A Specialized Seminar on Types of Pharmaceutical Glass

Under the patronage of the Student Activities Department, PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy held a specialized awareness event titled “Types of Pharmaceutical Glass and its Importance in the Manufacturing and Storage of Medical Products”. This event comes within the Faculty’s commitment to raising scientific awareness and promoting concepts of quality and drug safety.

The event featured several lecturers from the German company Schott, specializing in the manufacture of pharmaceutical glass, namely: Marius Amschler, Haakon Wiedemann, and David Philipp, along with Dr. Malik Anas Abdel Hamid and Ms. Samar Nabil Mohamed. They presented specialized lectures covering the latest practices and standards related to pharmaceutical glass used in the drug industry.

In addition, the lecturers provided a detailed explanation of the approved types of pharmaceutical glass used in the manufacturing and packaging of medical products, clarifying the properties of each type, the differences in their usage, and their applications in various pharmaceutical preparations. They also emphasized the importance of selecting the appropriate glass type to ensure the safety of the medicinal substance and prevent any interaction that might affect its efficacy, highlighting the latest international standards in this field.
