PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology hosted a symposium titled “Infodemiology and How to Deal with It.” The event was presented by Dr. Maha Naga, Lecturer in the Anesthesia and Critical Care Department, who provided an in-depth explanation of information epidemiology—a field that examines the properties, structure, and transmission of information, as well as methods for its organization, storage, retrieval, evaluation, and distribution.
The symposium featured Mohamed Othman, a fourth-year student in Critical Care Technology and Anesthesia, who enriched the discussion with an engaging presentation supported by explanatory videos. The event concluded with a strong emphasis on the importance of verifying the accuracy and sources of information, highlighting the critical role of reliable information in the digital era.
