PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department spares no effort to link the academic side with practical application. Within this context, second-year students conducted a field visit to one of the most prominent residential projects in New Alexandria, the Palm Hills Alexandria project by Palm Hills Developments, as part of the Architectural Design course requirements.
During the visit, students learned about the project implementation phases and the modern urban and architectural planning systems adopted by the company in designing integrated residential communities. They also listened to a detailed explanation from site engineers about execution methods and the quality of materials used, which contributed to enriching their practical knowledge and linking academic courses with professional reality.
Students benefited from analyzing the composition of architectural spaces, studying the functional relationships between spaces, in addition to the design of external facades and how they achieve visual harmony with the project’s architectural identity. Palm Hills Developments is one of the largest real estate developer in Egypt, and this visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of how to achieve a balance between aesthetics and practical application in design.
The visit was supervised by the course professors Prof. Dr. Reham Ragheb, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Fakharany, accompanied by Eng. Esraa Gamal, and Eng. Aisha.
The Architectural Engineering Department extends its gratitude to the Company’s management and the site team for their hospitality and for providing this enriching educational experience.
