A Field Visit to Grand Plaza Hotel
In a bid to link theoretical education with practical application, PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department had a field visit to the Grand Plaza Hotel. The visit targeted fourth-year students (7th Semester) for the course EA411-Architectural Design Level (5).
The visit was supervised by course professors Prof. Dr. Reham Nadi Faragallah and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mona Naguib, along with teaching assistants Eng. Israa Abdel Monsef and Eng. Habibah Allah Mohamed. The visit began with a welcome from Mr. Wael Rashad, Hotel Operations Manager, who explained the hotel’s components and the guest’s movement from arrival at the reception lounge until they reach their room.
Students learned about the types, sizes, and furnishings of the various rooms, as well as the service area, which includes the restaurant, kitchen, laundry, electrical and air conditioning rooms, their interrelationships, and vertical and horizontal circulation elements, all for application in their assigned project.
