Driven by PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department’s commitment to enriching students’ technical knowledge and bridging the gap between academia and the professional market, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakinam Nabil organized a specialized cultural and technical seminar in collaboration with “Saveto,” a leading company in construction materials. The event featured a keynote presentation by Eng. Esraa Badawi, Technical Support Engineer at Saveto. During the session, she introduced over 40 types of innovative products specifically developed to withstand the unique climatic conditions of the Middle East, ensuring the efficiency and durability of architectural projects.
The presentation covered a wide spectrum of integrated solutions, including interior and exterior colored finishes, specialized restoration materials, ready-mix cement mortars, and high-quality cement putties. Furthermore, the seminar focused on the practical applications of adhesives for ceramics, marble, and granite, as well as advanced joint fillers. To enhance the learning experience, the company provided physical samples of all presented materials, allowing students to examine their physical and textural properties firsthand and visualize their real-world applications within their design and executive projects.
The event concluded with an interactive and enthusiastic atmosphere through a scientific competition organized for the students. Eng. Esraa Badawi posed several technical questions designed to evaluate the students’ understanding of product characteristics and proper application methods. The competition saw high engagement, with several students winning prizes provided by the company as a gesture of encouragement. This seminar is a vital part of the department’s vision to empower students with the technical tools and field expertise required to keep pace with the latest construction solutions in the modern building industry.
