Writer’s Journey: From Idea to Publication
PUA’s Faculty of Languages and Translation hosted a workshop titled “The Writer’s Journey: From Idea to Publication”, presented by writer and lecturer May Etman.
The workshop explored the creative writing process from conceptualization to publication, with May Etman sharing her professional experience in writing short stories and books. Key topics included protecting literary works through publishing houses and professional publishing standards, techniques for developing literary talent and building story worlds, and the role of visual arts in enriching literary texts
The event saw remarkable engagement, with students and faculty actively participating through insightful questions about the publishing industry and challenges facing emerging writers. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Naglaa Nady, the Faculty’s Activity Coordinator, along with numerous students and faculty members.
In her concluding remarks, May Etman emphasized that “creative writing requires patience and perseverance, with success coming through continuous practice and extensive reading.” She praised the students’ enthusiastic participation and expressed hope for more such workshops to nurture young talents.
