Towards a Sustainable and Eco-Friendly University
As part of the second environmental campaign “Green Pharos,” PUA’s Faculty of Physical Therapy held an awareness seminar titled “Towards a Sustainable and Eco-Friendly University” for freshman students. The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amir Nazih Wadie, Dean of the Faculty, with active participation from students.
The seminar featured an informative lecture by Dr. Hitham Amin El-Essawy, Lecturer at the Faculty, who discussed ways to enhance environmental awareness and the importance of adopting sustainable practices within the university campus. He also presented practical solutions that students can implement in their daily lives to contribute to environmental protection.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Environment and Community Service, delivered a speech outlining the strategic vision of the “Green Pharos” initiative, emphasizing the crucial role of students in achieving its goals. He addressed methods for waste reduction and resource conservation, providing practical examples from successful experiences in this field.
Students expressed their positive engagement with the seminar content, affirming their readiness to actively participate in the environmental campaign activities. Attendees also commended the efforts to transform the university into a model of environmental sustainability, expressing their anticipation for more similar initiatives in the future.
