As part of its commitment to supporting creativity and innovation among its students, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a workshop titled “The Golden Ratio and Its Effectiveness in the Design Process in General and Logo Design in Particular”, which combined theoretical and practical aspects of visual design.
The workshop commenced with a speech by Dr. Amira Saleh, who emphasized the importance for designers to understand the aesthetic and mathematical relationships that contribute to achieving visual balance. She noted that the Golden Ratio is one of the most crucial foundations that gives a design harmonious beauty and natural proportion, attracting the eye and achieving visual harmony. During the workshop, several practical examples of international logos that relied on the Golden Ratio in their composition were presented, along with a discussion on how to apply it.
