The Radio and Television Department at PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication held a specialized seminar titled: “The Craft of Photojournalism: Skills and Publication Secrets.”
The seminar addressed the fundamental skills required for producing a professional photojournalistic report. It highlighted the characteristics of an idea appealing to the public and how to generate new and innovative concepts. The seminar explored methods and sources for information gathering, news types, and the specifications of a feature report, in addition to how to narrate visual stories, write narrative scripts, and formulate voice-over rules. The seminar also detailed the steps for adding final touches to ensure the photo report is ready for publication, revealing the precise details that guarantee its quality.
The seminar witnessed heavy attendance and remarkable interaction from students, with faculty members and assistants actively participating in discussions. The seminar was presented by journalist Mohamed Hiza, a correspondent for Al Arabiya Channel, and was attended by numerous faculty members and students from the faculty, reflecting academic and professional interest in this vital field.
