Recycling for a Better Environment

In an initiative that combines science, creativity, and environmental responsibility, PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Design, held a workshop titled “From Plastics to Sustainability: Recycling Metals and Plastics for a Better Environment”. The workshop was part of the activities of the Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED), aimed at establishing the concept of sustainability and implementing eco-friendly practices within the University.

The workshop highlighted the importance of recycling metals and plastics and transforming them into innovative artistic and functional products that contribute to waste reduction and the preservation of natural resources, emphasizing the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy in integrating environmental awareness with scientific practice and social responsibility.

Dr. Sherine Mokhtar, Lecturer in the Painting Department, Faculty of Arts and Design, participated in the workshop, presenting a distinguished artistic vision on recycling as a tool for creative expression and achieving sustainability. The workshop was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Salma Youssef Karar, Green Pharos representative for the Faculty of Arts and Design and Dr. Alia Mounes, CSED’s member at the Faculty of Pharmacy, a collaboration that reflects the integration of art and science in serving the environment and the community.
