 Application

 

 UV transilluminator contains a UV lamp under a glass top with a clear shield to protect user from UV exposure while visualizing the sample. It works by emitting high levels of UV radiation through the viewing surface.

It’s used for visualizing very small amount of DNA and RNA (Stained by EtBr) that have been separated by electrophoresis through an agarose or polyacrylamide gel. It works by illuminating the gel with UV light, causing fluorescent dyes within the nucleic acids to fluoresce and become visible.
