Co-supervision: A post graduate student receives guidance from a supervisor at their home university in collaboration with a supervisor from an international institution. In this model, the degree is typically awarded only by the home university, and formal inter-institutional agreements may not always be required.

Joint Supervision: A more rigorous arrangement where the student is simultaneously enrolled in two universities in different countries.
