Movement Mechanisms in Furniture Design
PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design held a workshop titled “Movement Mechanisms in Furniture Design,” under the supervision of the Student Activities Department. This workshop is part of the Faculty’s commitment to linking academic learning with practical application and developing students’ skills in design and manufacturing, particularly for their graduation projects.
The workshop included a detailed explanation by faculty members on door hinges and their installation methods, in addition to the types of wood used in furniture manufacturing and how to select them based on design and function. The workshop also covered practical applications concerning movement mechanisms in the design of beds and movable furniture pieces, thereby enriching students’ applied knowledge.
