Marking Orphan’s Day, PUA’s student-led “Kheir Team” organized a festive event for 300 orphans from seven local charities, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and with active participation from students across faculties.
Driven by their belief in volunteerism as a pillar of social development, the team designed a vibrant program featuring art performances, interactive games, and gift distributions, creating a day of laughter and connection for children from charities including Nabaa Al-Hob, Al-Istikrar, Waklaa Al Khair, Al Qalaa, Tariq Al-Kheir, Mojeeb Al Sa’aleen, and Ras Al Tin.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Atman praised the team’s dedication, stating, “Kheir Team embodies our university’s mission to serve the community and nurture humanitarian values in our students.” He highlighted the collaboration between PUA’s Community Service Center and Student Activities Department as key to the event’s success.
Team members reaffirmed their commitment to expanding such initiatives, calling the event “a first step in a lifelong journey of giving.”
