As part of PUA’s third campaign branded “Green Pharos,” the Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences hosted its Orientation Day for new students of the current academic year. The program focused on introducing students to the faculty and incorporating PUA’s initiatives toward Sustainable Development.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Tarek Taha, Dean of the Faculty. Attendees included Dr. Noha Badr, Executive Director of the Community Service Center, and Dr. Osama Badr, Vice Dean and Director of the Arabic Language Program.
Dr. Nourhan Gamal, the “Green Pharos” representative, delivered a speech explaining that PUA’s initiative is not limited to academics but extends to raising student awareness of environmental issues and promoting “green living” behaviors within the campus. She stressed that every student represents a vital link in disseminating the culture of sustainability among their colleagues and the community.
The event included practical guidance for students on how to engage in environmental activities, such as waste sorting and recycling, minimizing waste in resource consumption, and joining student initiatives that support the concept of a green university.
The activities concluded with a motivational message to students: their involvement in the “Green Pharos” initiatives contributes to building a conscious generation capable of contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals and supporting the state’s direction toward Egypt Vision 2030.
