Green Pharos Highlighted on Arts and Design’s Orientation Day
Alexandria – As part of Pharos University’s third environmental campaign, branded “Green Pharos,” the Faculty of Arts and Design organized its Orientation Day for new students. The day aimed to introduce students to their academic journey, the faculty’s mission, and its various departments, along with the diverse activities offered by the student committees (scientific, cultural, artistic, and athletic).
The Orientation Day was held with the attendance and patronage of University leaders: Professor Dr. Mohamed Gaber Abou Ali, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Mohamed Otman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Professor Dr. Maha Darwish, Dean of the Faculty.
The environmental aspect was a key focus of the event. Dr. Salma Wahba, the “Green Pharos” committee representative for the faculty, addressed the students, highlighting the committee’s role and emphasizing the importance of adhering to sound, eco-friendly behaviors both within and outside the University. Dr. Wahba indicated that the students are essential partners in supporting Pharos University’s vision to become a green university.
Faculty members were keen to welcome the new students and affirm their full support throughout their academic journey, which now integrates artistic creativity with social and environmental responsibility.
