As part of the third “Green Pharos” environmental campaign, PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) supervised the “Pharos Food Festival: Eat, Play, Sustain,” organized by the Faculty of Dentistry. The event primarily aimed to promote a culture of healthy nutrition and raise health awareness among students, focusing on integrating innovation and sustainable practices into daily life to enhance the overall quality of campus life.

The festival showcased a vibrant array of healthy food displays representing various Arab cultures, allowing students to explore innovative ways to prepare balanced and nutritious meals. Complementing the food displays, the event featured interactive educational games designed to reinforce public health concepts. These sessions concluded with the distribution of incentive prizes to students who demonstrated outstanding participation and excellence in the various competitions and activities.

Beyond nutritional awareness, the event emphasized innovation and sustainability, with students presenting practical ideas and creative solutions aimed at enhancing public health and combating hunger in alignment with the global Sustainable Development Goals. These presentations reflected the students’ sense of social responsibility and their ability to think creatively when addressing contemporary environmental and social challenges through implementable models.

In conclusion, CSED affirmed that this festival is an integral part of PUA’s ongoing strategy to spread health and environmental consciousness among its members. The event demonstrates PUA’s commitment to launching unconventional educational initiatives that bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, ultimately benefiting the university community and cultivating a conscious generation equipped to contribute to social development.
