Arts and Design Contributes to Egypt’s University Sports Visual Identity

In a strategic move to integrate artistic innovation with national branding, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design participated in the national competition for “Developing the Visual Identity of Egyptian University Sports.” This initiative seeks to create a contemporary visual identity for the Egyptian University Olympics and Regional Games, highlighting the vital role of design in promoting the visual presence of student athletic activities across the country.

The faculty’s participation featured three talented student teams that demonstrated high professional standards by adhering to the specific technical criteria while submitting their designs via the official competition portal. These creative efforts were meticulously mentored by Dr. Shaimaa Khodeir and Dr. Amira Salah, who guided the students in crafting innovative design solutions that blend Egyptian heritage with modern aesthetics.

To follow up on this creative progress, the student groups presented their design philosophies and artistic visions to Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. During the briefing, students explained the conceptual logic behind each logo and how it aligns with the university sports spirit. Prof. Dr. Etman praised the exceptional artistic quality of the submissions, emphasizing that graphic design is a strategic tool for showcasing Egypt’s university sports identity on both national and international levels. The meeting concluded with commemorative photos to document the faculty’s contribution to this significant national project, reaffirming PUA’s position as a leader in the creative and design disciplines.
